LibreOffice & Bru’n Water

A couple of problems have surfaced for Bru’n Water users operating under the LibreOffice platform. The first issue that can affect all users is when a Hash Incompatible warning is posted that also requires a password. This is due to a problem within the LibreOffice program. It’s relatively easy to implement a workaround.

Go to the LibreOffice Menu and select: Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> General and then review the AutoRecovery settings. Users have two options: Either disable the AutoRecovery function or increase the time interval between the AutoRecovery saves to 60 minutes. Either revision should make it possible to perform Bru’n Water calculations without the warning being displayed.

The second problem only concerns the Supporter’s version of Bru’n Water. LibreOffice does not have the capability to run Excel’s macro language. Therefore, the Save and Reload functions for the Data Manager do not operate under LibreOffice. Bru’n Water users have to run the program under Excel in order to have that functionality.

It appears that ‘Free’ has it’s limitations.
